Eavor co-founder and Executive Vice President Jeanine Vany had the opportunity to meet with Rebecca Schulz, Alberta’s Minister of Environment and Protected Areas, and tour Eavor’s Geretsried drilling site.
Speaking about the event, Vany said: “It was an honor for me to guide Minister Schulz around the drilling site in Geretsried. In a way, the presence of Minister Schulz felt like coming full circle. Without Alberta’s early investment in drilling for the Eavor-Lite pilot project in Alberta in 2019, we would not be standing here in Bavaria today, drilling the first commercial Eavor-Loop™. Our goal of enabling local autonomy for clean energy everywhere is closer than ever and will certainly have a transformative impact on the energy crisis in Europe if we deploy more Eavor-Loops.”
Schulz and Vany expressed their shared enthusiasm for witnessing how an Alberta-based technology, which originated from oil and gas expertise, is being commercialized in Germany.
In her Instagram post about the event, Schulz cited the fact that there is great potential for the expansion of geothermal energy in Canada and worldwide, which demonstrates that “Alberta can and will export our energy and expertise to help power the world.”
