Permits have been received for Eavor Technologies(www.eavor.com) to proceed with the Geretsried geothermal plant. A recent article by Süddeutsche Zeitung reports that city councillors have approved the planning permit for the new approach to the geothermal project in Geretsried, Bavaria in Germany.
The city of Geretsried, which is still lagging behind its climate goals, remains supportive of the project. The power plant is being built in order to make geothermal energy usable for the city by generating power, providing district heating, and saving 40,000 tons of CO2 per year. The unanimous vote from the city councillors means the first management system is to be built later this year.
